US Democratic congressman Seth Moulton has labeled President Donald Trump’s impending Iran peace deal a “surrender document,” arguing it fails to deliver any gains America didn’t already have before the war. Trump announced on Saturday that a peace framework would be signed the next day, including reopening the Strait of Hormuz and potentially addressing Iran’s enriched uranium. However, Moulton contends that after spending $100 billion and suffering 14 American deaths, the deal amounts to a net loss. Media reports suggest the deal may include sanctions relief and the end of the US blockade, but Iranian officials indicate the signing may not occur immediately, with nuclear talks expected to follow. California Senator Adam Schiff also expressed reservations, warning that a weak deal could be a strategic loss for the country.
