This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia, as well as the “China-Malaysia Friendship Year,” an important milestone for the two nations. To support the stability and quality enhancement of China’s foreign trade, leverage the “Yumao Global” brand, and actively explore new overseas markets while showcasing the charm of “Chongqing-made” products, the Chongqing Dadukou District Business Committee successfully held a series of trade activities, including a business matching conference and a showcase of specialty agricultural products, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from September 25 to 28.
Building Bridges, Reaching Consensus, and Expanding Trade into a New Future
On September 25, the China (Chongqing Dadukou) – Malaysia Business and Trade Matching Conference took place in Kuala Lumpur. Key representatives, including Dato’ Raymond Chong, Mr. Jian Jingyi, President of the Malaysia-China Cultural and Tourism Chamber, Mr. Chi Yifeng, Vice President of the Malaysian Chinese Industry Association, Mr. Ma Yonggang, Chairman of Chongqing Zhenyishun Food Co., Ltd., Ms. Yan Chenjuan, General Manager of Chongqing Jinggu Yuan Food Technology Co., Ltd., and Ms. Xie Hongmin, Deputy General Manager of Chongqing Liaoyu Food Co., Ltd., gathered to discuss new cooperation opportunities. In-depth exchanges regarding agricultural product trade, food industries, and related sectors led to preliminary cooperation intentions from companies like V LOVE MANUFACTURING SDN BHD and JOM BENTONG SDN BHD, which expressed a commitment to enhance communication and collaboration to elevate China-Malaysia agricultural ties and promote Chongqing noodles globally.
Riding the “Exhibition” Wave to Initiate a New Era of International Cooperation
From September 26 to 28, the “7th Malaysia International Agricultural Technology Exhibition (Agri Malaysia 2024)” served as Malaysia’s largest B2B agricultural hub and a platform to showcase the latest agricultural products and best practices. To promote Chongqing noodles internationally, the Chongqing Dadukou District Business Committee organized several local enterprises, including Chongqing Jinggu Yuan Food Technology Co., Ltd., Chongqing Zhenyishun Food Co., Ltd., and Chongqing Liaoyu Food Co., Ltd., to present a variety of specialty agricultural products such as dried goods, seasonings, halal foods, Chongqing noodles, and sour plum soup. The exhibition attracted nearly 13,000 purchasing visitors, with around 80 initial customer agreements established on-site. Several representatives, including the Malaysia-China General Chamber of Commerce and the Malaysia Global Agricultural Alliance, signed preliminary agency contracts with Chongqing Dadukou enterprises, resulting in cumulative signed orders worth approximately 2.8 million.
Chongqing Noodles Go Global: A Strategic Leap Forward
Chongqing noodles, as a beloved specialty food of Chongqing, have always enjoyed a wide consumer base. Since the launch of the export plan for noodles from Dadukou District earlier this year, Chongqing noodles have entered markets in Thailand, Singapore, Australia, and more. This exhibition acted as a strong catalyst to further accelerate the international expansion of Chongqing noodles. This event not only served as a trade fair but also vividly reflected the friendship and cooperation between China and Malaysia. With mutual efforts, Chongqing noodles are expected to shine even brighter on the international stage, adding significant momentum to the new chapter of cooperation in the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
